Bri has been waiting a long time for this day- 4 long years.
The day began with another ride around on the quite roads followed by
a coffee that got a three star rating for ambience (on the terrace of
cafe de progress at Menerbes- what a view!).
The rest of the morning was spent swimming and lounging before heading
out to lunch in the totally untouristed town of Lumiers. Stan will
blog more details of the food so beware to the squeamish. Until now we
have eaten out very little while in Provence and this is firstly
because Stan has made the most of the markets and the kitchen to do
some cooking. Secondly, it turns out that most of the restaraunts
around here that are any good become tourist hotspots and then the
prices go up so much that the locals can't afford to eat out. When we
have the option to cook wonderful food ourselves it makes it hard to
chose to go out and pay a small fortune for it.
The town of Lumiers has solved this for us. It is a small village that
sits right next to the highway and as such has not been developed
touristically. Both of the restaraunts we have now eaten at are in
this town and we will probably go back tomorrow for more.
